METHOD-SPECIFIC RULES
How the water gets there matters.
Choose the method that actually delivers the water. WateringDayCheck never converts one method into another or assumes that an exemption applies.
Automatic irrigation
A permanently installed sprinkler or irrigation controller. Utilities commonly assign the narrowest days and clock windows to this method.
Hose-end sprinkler
A movable sprinkler supplied by a hose. It may share automatic-irrigation limits or receive a separate day or time rule.
Drip irrigation
Low-volume emitters at or below the soil surface. Some—but not all—providers allow different frequency or hours.
Hand watering
A hose held continuously or a watering can. Official definitions matter; leaving a hose unattended may not qualify.
Tree bubbler
A low-flow device focused on a tree basin. Some providers give it a separate rule; others include it with drip or irrigation.
Reclaimed water
Non-potable reclaimed supply. Exemptions are never assumed; the provider must state one explicitly.
The same address and day may have one rule for automatic sprinklers and another for hand watering or drip irrigation. Choose the method you actually use, and check the provider when its wording is unclear.
